Regenerative Tissue Therapy

Generating Healthy Cells to Replace Diseased Cells.

Regenerative Tissue Therapy are cells in the human body that act as an internal repair system, and play an essential role in the body’s ability to heal itself. When injury occurs, inflammatory markers activate the resting cells, which then migrate to the site of injury and begin the healing and regenerative process.

Stem cells are often referred to as “Master Cells” that have the potential to develop into almost any type of cell in the body. They actually become new cells – new cartilage, ligaments, bone, muscle, blood, and all other organ cells, including heart, liver, pancreas, lung, etc.

Stem cells have the potential to repair, restore, replace and regenerate. The distinctive ability to transform and heal tissue makes Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine an ideal treatment option for degenerative conditions, including osteoarthritis of the knees, hips, shoulders, and spine.

As we age, the number of viable stem cells in the body decreases significantly, which reduces the body’s ability to heal and restore. Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine addresses this issue and provides a resolution by placing a high concentration of viable stem cells directly at the site of damage.

Stem Cell Therapy works to rectify and repair the injured tissue by allowing the cells that made the body - heal the body.

The Patient Experience

Your bone marrow will be aspirated through a small needle puncture in your posterior iliac crest (pelvic bone) with a specialized device, Marrow CellutionTM, which will harvest high concentrations of your body’s stem cells, platelets and growth factors. The Bone Marrow Aspirate will be collected into a sterile syringe and injected into the targeted body area being treated.

The risks of therapies utilizing BMA are extremely low but as with any procedure, there are possible risks and complications. Although very unlikely, any injection can potentially cause bleeding, increase pain, infection or nerve damage. Because your own cells are being utilized, there is no risk of tissue rejection of the cells.

While there are currently several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals showing the efficacy of Bone Marrow therapy on tendons, soft tissue, and cartilage injuries, procedures utilizing Bone Marrow Aspirate are still not covered by most insurance companies at this time.

Marrow CellutionTM

Optimizing Bone Marrow Harvesting for Regenerative Therapies

Therapies utilizing Bone Marrow Aspirate have been shown to promote bone and soft tissue healing as well as reduce symptoms of pain related to injuries, tendinitis, and arthritis. Successful outcomes have been shown to be directly related to the quality of stem cells delivered. Marrow CellutionTM uses patented technology to maximize the concentrations of these valuable cells.

What is Marrow CellutionTM?

The Marrow CellutionTM bone marrow aspiration device uses its patented technology to harvest high quality stem and progenitor cells from various levels within the marrow space, while limiting peripheral blood contamination.

Marrow CellutionTM accesses aspirate flow collected exclusively laterally as the tip of the aspiration cannula is closed, allowing marrow collection perpendicular to and around the channel created by the device. It incorporates technology to precisely reposition the harvesting cannula within the marrow space after each aspiration. These features achieve a clinician’s desire for a single entry point.

Bone Marrow Aspiration

A traditional trocar needle aspirates primarly peripheral blood, which limits the regenerative potential

Bone Marrow Aspiration

Marrow CellutionTM aspirates from multiple geographies while limiting peripheral blood collection, maximizing the collection of valuable stem cells.

The Power of Bone Marrow Derived Cells

Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMA) which contain a complex mix of nucleated cells, platelets and growth factors, are known to aid in the healing of a variety of orthopedic injuries and to promote angiogenesis in ischemic tissue

The total number of stem cells found in the Marrow CellutionTM system aspirates, roughly 28,000, represents a level of progenitor/stem cells that is in line with concentrations from other studies that have shown therapeutic success in reducing disc pain, treating hip osteonecrosis and ameliorating cartilage defects.

Injuries often treated with Bone Marrow include:

Osteoarthritis, Meniscus Tears (Medial, Lateral), Chondromalacia Patella, Tendon Injuries (Patellar Tedonitis, Quad Tendon), Ligament sprains or tears (MCL, LCL, ACL)

Osteoarthritis, Hip Labrum Tears, SI Joint Dysfunction, Piriformis Syndrome, Greater Trochanteric Bursitis, Iliotibial Band (ITB) Syndrome

Osteoarthritis, Rotator Cuff Tendinitis, Tendinopathy, or Partial Tears, Labrum Tears, Bicipital Tendinitis

Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow), Medial Epicondylitis (Golfers Elbow)

Osteoarthritis, De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis

Achilles Tendinitis or Partial Tears, Plantar Fasciitis, Ankle Sprains/Ligament Injury

Facet Joint Arthropathy, Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Dysfunction

Potential Benefits of Regenerative Tissue Therapy  Musculoskeletal Conditions Treated:

- Reduction of Inflammation and Pain

- Arthritis in the Knees, Hips, Shoulders, and Spine (Neck/Low Back)

- Repairing and Regenerating Bone and Muscle Tissues of the Spine and Joints

- Increasing Natural Fluids in the Joint that Lubricate and Protect the Joint from Injury

- Stimulating Cartilage Development and Growth

- Arthritis of smaller joints like Elbows, Wrist and Ankles.

Arthritis by the Numbers

Regenerative Medicine is the cutting edge treatment that has the potential to offer results that we once thought were unobtainable. Currently more than 50 million adults have doctor diagnosed arthritis, that’s 1 in 5 adults (18+). Within the next 15 years that number is projected to be roughly 67 million. Arthritis is already the #1 cause of disability in the United States and account for significant lost hours and wages throughout our workforce.

Mundane and Dated Management Options

Current medical management of arthritic pain consists of Nsaids, pain pills, other pharmaceuticals, avoidance of provocative activities, bracing and potentially exercise based therapies. Ultimately, many of these management options provide minimal relief while imposing potentially serious risk factors. Unfortunately, these are all temporary “Band-Aid’s” that attempt to mask symptoms while the underlying degenerative condition continues to advance. This leaves many with only one option – surgery – a higher risk procedure that may require a hospital stay, and will require anesthesia, scarring, significant rehabilitation and considerable recovery time (and of course, pharmaceuticals).

Regenerative Tissue Therapy – Safe, Effective and Simple

Regenerative Tissue Therapy is a safe, effective and simple procedure – the treatment is administered through an injection that delivers the regenerative tissue directly to the site of injury, and typically takes about 15-20 minutes to perform. Pain reduction is noticeable within days, with joint and tissue regeneration most prominently occurring in the first 1-9 months. Patients come in for the procedure and walk out shortly thereafter. No hospital, no anesthesia, no scarring and no prolonged recovery time required (and of course, No pharmaceuticals).

Regenerative Tissue Therapy offers a safe, effective and natural healing process that regenerates tissue and rejuvenates joints to provide long term pain relief and tissue healing. Before settling for surgery or falling into the mundane pharmaceutical cycle – discover Regenerative Medicine, explore the possibilities of natural tissue healing and permanent repair.

Before you commit to surgery, consider regenerative tissue therapy.
