MEDICAL PAIN RELIEF

Going Straight To The Source Of The Pain

At Collaborative Healthcare, our team of healthcare professionals will custom design a medical pain relief program, using natural and botanical agents that lower pain and inflammation by targeting the source of your pain. We don’t just make sure that you are pain-free, but also look for any muscle weakness or instability that can lead to your symptoms coming back. Any muscle weakness or imbalance is addressed through a rehabilitation program to strengthen those muscles and aid in their stability, providing our patients comprehensive healthcare solutions only found at Collaborative Healthcare. This comprehensive care allows our patients to not only get pain relief – but ensure that our patients have the tools to remain pain-free.

Whether you’re currently experiencing acute or chronic low back pain – or you’d like to avoid experiencing it in the future… We can help!

TREATMENTS:

Our team of healthcare professionals will start by locating the source of your pain by conducting a thorough history and examination allowing us to diagnose you properly. Once we have determined your diagnosis, our staff creates an individualized treatment plan to alleviate your pain. Depending on your specific diagnosis, treatment options will vary – but some therapies we may utilize include:

Joint InjectionsSacroiliac (SI) joints and facet joints are common causes of low back pain. Our medical staff offers tradition injections with steroids and / or natural anti-inflammatory and pain reliever - Sarapin.

Trigger Point Injection Therapy – Muscles of the low back and hip region can also be common causes of back pain, one muscle frequently discussed is the Piriformis. Trigger points found in theses muscles can be alleviated with a quick, painless injection performed by our trained medical staff.

We may also recommend Chiropractic Care and Massage Therapy to aid in pain relief and tissue healing. For some patients, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy may be indicated. Low back braces may be appropriate to add support and stability to the painful areas, particularly during the acute stages. Our staff utilizes Physical Rehabilitation to strengthen the core and stabilizing muscles that will aid in the long term recovery process and help prevent future episodes.

NECK PAIN

Neck PainCOMMON SYMPTOMS:

Pain in the neck that may also involve the upper back, shoulders and/or arms. Can cause headaches.

Stiffness and/or Tenderness of the neck and surrounding muscles.

Increase pain with movement – any neck motion can be painful, may be difficult to look over shoulder while driving.

Audile “cracks” or grinding with movement neck.

TREATMENTS:

Joint InjectionsFacet joints are common causes of neck pain. Our medical staff offers tradition injections with steroids and / or a natural anti-inflammatory and pain reliever - Sarapin.

Trigger Point Injection Therapy – Muscles of the neck/upper back are also common causes of pain.

Neck braces may be appropriate to add support and stability to the painful areas, particularly during the acute stages. Postural correction braces may also be of benefit. Our staff utilizes Physical Rehabilitation to strengthen the stabilizing muscles that will aid in the long term recovery process and help prevent future episodes.

MIGRAINE HEADACHES, CLUSTER HEADACHES & TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA

MigraineCOMMON SYMPTOMS:

Throbbing headache that can vary in intensity, pain can last from hours to days.

May be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

Sensitivity to light and sensitivity to sound are common.

May experience visual symptoms, such as “floaters,” flashes of light or distorted vision.

TREATMENT:

Quick, easy, and effective headache block. No needles, cotton swabs, or narcotics. The block is administered through a small, flexible catheter (like a small flexible straw) that is guided through the nasal passageway to the Sphenopalatine Ganglion without any patient discomfort. A small amount of liquid lidocaine is administered. This procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and results in immediate relief of migraine symptoms.

We may also recommend Chiropractic Care and Massage Therapy to aid in the pain relief and long term recovery

KNEE PAIN – OSTEOARTHRITIS

Knee PainCOMMON SYMPTOMS:

Pain that tends to be worse with activity, typically has some improvement with rest.

Stiffness – most noticeable in the morning or after prolonged inactivity, like prolonged sitting.

Decreased movement of the joint – deep bends tend to be difficult, including using stairs or getting in and out of chairs or vehicles.

Swelling of the joint, potentially the joint feeling warm.

Audile “cracks” or grinding with movement of the joint.

TREATMENT OPTIONS:

Stem Cell and Regenerative Tissue Therapy – the body’s internal repair system, go to the site of injury, begin the healing and regenerative process. Have the ability to repair, restore, replace, and regenerate. Find out more – CLICK HERE.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) – An injection of the patients own platelets, in a very concentrated form which naturally promote tissue healing. The injection of concentrated platelets releases growth factors and increase healing of tissues. Side effects are very limited because the patient is using their own cells.

Hyaluronic Acid Joint Fluid Therapy – A natural, non-surgical therapy to reduce pain and inflammation. Hyaluronic Acid Joint Fluid Therapy involves a series of painless injections which help to cushion the knee, adding lubrication to the joint, relieving pain and improving activity tolerances.

Hyaluronan is a natural substance that is found in our joints and synovial tissues. In healthy joints, Hyaluronan acts as a shock absorber and lubricates the joint. In degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis, the Hyaluronan is less abundant and cartilage is worn down.

Hyaluronic Acid Joint Fluid Therapy – WD40 for the human body

Traditional Medicine Injectables – Steroid injections to reduce pain and inflammation.

We may also recommend a knee brace to support the knee and correct abnormal movements of the joint as well as rehabilitation to strengthen the muscles surround the joint, improve walking mechanics, and reduce pain.

MUSCLE PAIN – TRIGGER POINTS

Muscle PainMYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINTS – Muscle trigger points are often referred to as “knots” that are felt in muscle. These trigger point “knots” develop when bands of muscle experience excessive tension. This can happen due to injury or repetitive / excessive strain (like prolonged poor posture), causing the muscle to contract like knots, causing pain and tightness. The pain from trigger points can be felt in the immediate areas, and is commonly felt in surrounding areas known as referred pain. You may also experience restricted movements, stiffness, reduced flexibility, and/or muscle weakness.

TRIGGER POINT INJECTION THERAPY – Performed by a trained medical provider, the injections take just a few minutes. The injections can be done using tradition medications or with Sarapin which is a natural anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. Sarapin is plant based and non-toxic, extracted from the roots and leaves of the pitcher plant.

SHOULDER PAIN

Shoulder PainCOMMON CAUSES:

Arthritis – Osteoarthritis “wear and tear,” typically develops slowly – pain tends to increase over time. May notices pain, swelling, and stiffness of the joint.

Bursitis – A bursae are small, fluid filled sac that are located in joints throughout the body and act as cushions between the bones and the muscles, ligaments, and tendons that move over those areas. These bursae can become inflamed and swollen leading to pain which is typically worse with certain movements.

Tendinitis – A tendon connects muscle to bone. Tendinitis is the inflammation of these tendons and can be classified as acute or chronic.

Acute Tendinitis – typically associated with sports or work caused by repetitive or excessive arm and shoulder movements – like a pitcher in baseball.

Chronic Tendinitis – typically associated with wear and tear over time or with degenerative arthritis.

Shoulder Tendinitis is most common in one of the four rotator cuff muscles and is also commonly seen on the Biceps Tendon (Long head).

Tendon Tears – The same tendons that were noted above can also be subject to tearing. Tendon tears can happened acutely with a sudden injury or happen slowly overtime with wear and tear.

Impingement – Impingement occurs with movement – when the arm is lifted out to the side, the scapula (shoulder blade) presses down and impinges upon the underlying soft tissue (bursa and tendons of rotator cuff). This impingement can cause limited movement of the shoulder, pain and inflammation of shoulder joint, bursitis and / or tendinitis.
